Non-CCG
Now let me explain. There is nothing wrong with creating a card game. However most CCGs are built around the premise of 'seasons' with power-creeps and false-rarity to justify broken cards and increase revenue. As a result most players who play card games are reluctant to buy into new ones whilst new players are likely to buy into established franchises with a larger player base than anything you could offer. That said there is still hope, ECGs (Expandable Card Games) as I call them are card games where core sets and expansion packs are predetermined, there's no 'random' factor in getting a specific card as all packs are set.
CCG's tend to generate more revenue as players are forced to make repeat purchases when trying to complete a set, either that or they fail completely. ECGs on the other hand tend to generate less income but are more reliable since they are easier for players to access.
If you're not sure what I mean just compare Pokemon/MTG to Munchkin.
